How to Drive Traffic to Blog

With a lot more people looking at blogging as a serious idea for business, the question that seems to be on every persons lips is “How do I get traffic to my blog?”

#1 Provide Quality Content

The absolute most essential thing is that you provide value on your blog. Value is the foundation of any good business. Write things that totally stand out from other articles in the field and your income and traffic will stand out too. If you have to ask yourself “Is this article good enough?” then it isn’t good enough.

#2 SEO

SEO stands for search engine optimization and basically means arranging your site so that you can receive traffic from search engines such as Google. You must have good links coming in from sites with a high PR (PageRank), this can be done through “Blog Carnivals” and by changing the metatags and ads on your pages to be totally relevant to what you blog about.

#3 Keyword Targeting

Do a Google search for keyword generation tools and put in the topic you write on, say “Internet Marketing”. These tools give you exactly what people search for in relation to that keyword and how many searches a day they do. You can then fulfill these customers wishes and write articles with those keywords in and about those keywords so that you can get targeted constant traffic if you hit the number one spot.

A good tip is to aim for phrases that have less than 500 competition in Google with quotes around the phrase because then you will almost definitely get the number one spot in Google and all of the traffic.
